Hi there,
I have been recently exposed to some training material some State sponsored corporation is using to instruct employees. It is an interactive program with videos, slideshows and questionaries and it is supposed to take 4 (!) hours to go through. Apparently they want every employee complete it.
I must say I am horrorified.
The first half is what can only be considered a brainwashing campaign. "We are a socially responsible corporation with these values, we expect you to defer your holidays if need be becase the needs of the corporate collective are more important than your own goals. We are all a big socially responsible family and we recycle and refuse bribes. You must follow out approved code of conduct when you are out of your work hours because what you do out of your work also represents the corporate identity of our family. If you know of any employee breaking our rules, fill a report to the Corporate Identity Compliance office."
You can't make this garbage up.
Corporate training has always been very bad around here but it looks like the trend is taking a nose dive. If this is widespread we are heading to a fatal state of cultural decay. It is already as bad as a cheap steampunk novel.
The second part was quite ok. It was entry material for personal data protection, which mostly consisted on training materials instructing people how to avoid scam mails and how to keep confidential data secured.
