The three failing jobs appear to be NetBSD CI timeouts, not failures related to this change. The failed jobs are netbsd-amd64 \[sftp\], \[hash\], and \[gitinfo\], each timing out after 1 hour.

This is basically just a total rewrite - I suggest you zip it up and upload it to Vertrauen if you want to share it with other Synchronet sysops. I don't think it's appropriate for the git repo.

Good catch. I restored the original author credit and removed the BBS-specific name, Windows-specific wording, and absolute paths from the file headers.

With all that bbs junk i've ran through claude i can spot ai stuff
a mile away.

I think there are some people who have poor language skills and/or they're lazy and run everything through AI. On my company website there's a thing where you can congratulate a coworker and everyone 100% uses AI. I had a coworker who was leaving and I did one as a joke.
