Their parents probably didn't pay much attention to them and left them in front of the TV for too long, so instead of having responsible role models, they have CNN and NBC showing them how to live their lives.

I don't. At this stage of their lives, they could have improved themselves several times over. But to grow and improve they must recognize that they don't know everything and need to improve. And they can't accept that idea.
