Looks like someone MMed a whole magazine article. I can't imagine me packing all the stuff for even one of those categories for a bicycle
ride. Bv)=
This came from a book titled Cycle Food, which is about cooking while
bike touring. The author would frequently stop at convenience stores
and grocery stores while on the road. The ingredient list is more
for inspiration that a list of things to keep in stock. If the store
doesn't have one item, maybe it has one of the others in the list.
My favorite bike touring food experience was finding farmer's markets
along the way.
Here's one of my favourite camping recipes --- all buut the S&P and
lemon juice (in packets) is foraged.
Title: Campfire Trout
I've read about people catching fish while hiking, but i have not had
that experience yet. Some people even depended on it. They would
pack minimal food and rely on being able to forage food in the wild.
Once i picked up a hitch hiker who liked to cut cross-country. He
said that at the right time of year in the foothills of the Willamette
valley, he would procure an abundance of mushrooms, some of them
large enough to make a meal out of a single mushroom.
