This frightening D'Bridge version finally adds completely integrated file-requests via BinkD... something the non-D'Bridge ghouls find
themselves having to install a frightening 3rd-party "Srif" processor.
You simply define the directories or magic-names for file requests as
you normally would for modem file-requests in Config-Directory Paths.
When a Sysop requests files from your system via BinkD, the activity is
logged in the main-window and optionally logged in the "FREQ log" file
if defined. BinkD will seamlessly call my process to handle the requests
and send a confirmation Netmail to the Sysop when the files are sent.
If you are running your own BinkD process or configuration where this
needs to be added manually, add: exec "dbreq.exe *S" *.[rR][eE][qQ]
- You can create your own Netmail response to send back to the requesting
system by creating two textfiles called DBRIDGE.BRH for the header
and DBRIDGE.BRF for the footer. Usually you would just make up some
blurb about what exactly can be requested from your system.
- Note that the Netmail sent to the Sysop is generated as a .PKT file "on
the fly" as per the way the Srif session works, so it is not possible
to see a copy of this. However the D'Bridge logs will show the full
activity and the contents of the original request.
- Sysops who file-request from any password protected directories on your
system must make their requests with a comma and then the password
ie. SECRET,PASSWORD
- For security reasons only file-requests that could be fulfilled are
reported back to the requesting Sysop.
- OS/2 Sysops will need HSTART by Henk Kelder to be in the DB directory.
