As I am looking to dodge the Windows 7 VM, has anyone managed to run dbridge under windows 10 32bit?

Yes and it will work on 64-bit Windows with the install of the NTVDM64 project. I do not have the link handy but Google the NTVDM porting project on Sourceforge.

    Hi Nick,
I have tried vDOS and NTVDM64 but the CPU consumption goes through the roof even with Timeslicing tinkering. We discussed this a few messages back.

On 32bit Windows 10 32bit 1909 fully patched new installation I get an NTVDM error System error 4001h.

    Latest DB4

    Merry Xmas btw

Scratch that. Misconfigration from my side. Replying now from a Windows 10 32bit VM.

So far runing much better than on Windows 7 VM and CPU of the host is much lower thus the fan is less annoying :)

Glad to hear. Please also try to run D'Bridge on one CPU core - There are reported reliability problems when it is running on more than one core.

I do not have the exact shortcut/batch to start D'Bridge in this manner, I believe Ward does, or if you have the ability to rescan this conference it would be at least several months back where the topic of cores was discussed.

Indeed I do. This is my batch file ...

Out of curiosity, what were the types of issues you saw prior to setting th CPU affinity option for DB? Random freezing with no error message?

Random freezing but most often the AutoUpdate event at midnight freezes.

I have seen that happen over here for no apparent reason once in awhile and not
    currently using the affinity setting.

Have seen the same thing happen here on occasion/randomly. Thought it was something particular to my setup.

I'll edit the batch file running the hub and bbs instances of DB over here.

I did not have this issue but I will try it to see if it resolves my other issue.. Many thanks.
The problem I have sometimes is that DBRIDGE exits because it can not write on the log.

Try the new update I just published. I increased the log buffer slightly.

may i ask that your hatching of d'bridge files also include the Replaces keyword in your tic files when the new file being hatched replaces an existing one, please?

they keep getting stuck here until i find them and manually edit the tic to add
the Replaces xxxxxxxx.xxx line... i'm loath to simply set the whole d'bridge FDN area as forced replace... i mean, i can do that but why not use the capabilities of the tic format to their fullest? ;)

thank you for your consideration and time...
