Hello Flavio!
09 May 21 12:10, you wrote to August Abolins:
Well, here we are :-)
Yes we are! I don't think I've been on fido since 1995?
'96? Just that I know it's been -too- long!
And.. you got your old nodenumber back. That's pretty nice.
I also got mine back :-)
I like the way Fidonet reserves old numbers when they go
silent, and resurrects them when the same sysop returns years
later.
Thank Pavel Gulchouck and his website for that. It helps a lot in ressurecting old nodes.
I'm actually planning on documenting my setup, too. Once everything works reasonably well and I haven't tinkered with it for 2-3 days (like *that* will ever happen ;-) ).
My setup currently consists of BinkD, FMail, GoldEd, running on Windows. I had considered Linux, and while for example my Plex server is completely on Linux, I wanted something more familiar (to me) for the whole automation around my Node system. Because I might not be a super Pro in Fido, but I do know my way around DOS batch and PowerShell. Not sure yet if I'll bother with file areas, I'd have to see about that.
Regards
Fermin
