    Maybe it is just because I am using an old offline reader to view these messages, but it seems like they have some extra "non-text" characters
    included in them.

    Maybe it is just because I am using an old offline reader to view these messages, but it seems like they have some extra "non-text" characters included in them.

    If you're seeing some extra curly brackets in my sig line, then it's just me. I added some C-NET BBS color commands in my signature. I'll remove them for posts going to FidoNet.

    I have quoted them here. They look like "sideways" triangles. They appear
    as the first character on lines 4 and 6 above, and right after "SYS: " on
    line 5.

    As best as I can tell, they don't hurt anything.
