Joe,
Most visitors bureau's are on the outskirts of town on a main road.
Ours you have to make your way downtown then down a side street and maybe find a place to park.
I think most people would just give up on the place and either not/or quit looking for it.
In the city where I grew up, the Chamber Of Commerce for Hialeah, was
located along Okeechobee Road (US 27), next to the Miami Canal (the area
east of the Miami River, which empties into Biscayne Bay. As I recall,
there wasn't a large area for parking...but this was 45 years ago. In
Little Rock, the Convention and Visitors Bureau is located across the
street from the Statehouse Convention Center, at Markham and Scott
Street, along the Arkansas River through downtown.
They were cosmetically restored (i.e. some fresh paint was slapped on them) over 50 years ago and nothing done since.
The folks for the history and preservation of buildings, steam
locomotives, etc., are largely ignored by "progress".
