At least they were in uniform... ;) Was the USS Wisconsin open for
    tours, or just on view...?

It was another site that was closed. One can view the outside, but not
go aboard. There's a huge Navy museum beside it that was also closed. Had
to go to the museum for admission to the ship.
When I got home Friday evening as I was parking the car in front of my building I thought "Now where will I go next year?" :)
If you like I could send you a report on my trip with more details, observations, etc. I did that last year for some folks.
Something I will be working on this coming week reviewing notes I made
at the time while things were still fresh in my mind.

Nope. I would like to do that some day.
I was in Memphis last year, which is a whole story unto itself.
In short, I arrived one Saturday morning, visited the riverside park and
then into downtown, found a place to park and visited a couple of places.
I decided to stay over a second day since so much more I wanted to see.
I went back to where I had parked the car and it was gone.
I asked a cop if it had been towed for an expired meter and told no.
My next thought was it was stolen and filed a police report.
It was a rental so I could get another and home, but everything would
need to be replaced, all I had was the clothes on my back, and generally feeling sorry for myself.
I spent hours looking for the car, denying it was stolen, it was
    somewhere, etc.
Sunday morning I found a rental office that opened at noon.
I went out looking for it again and found a map of downtown at a
streetcar stop and re-traced my steps. I then found I had not parked on the street
I thought, but a side street.
I finally found it, but not where I thought it was.
Had to call the police I had found it, fill out another report, etc.
My idea of staying another day changed and I was out of town.
That was my Memphis Misadventure which gets a lot of laughs when I tell
    it.
On this last trip if I were parked where there were no landmarks I took
a picture of the area, in case this happened again and hope some kindhearted native would take pity on me and tell me where to go. To find the car that that. :)

So another trip for that, too....

    Dallas,

Have you been to Chattanooga and Lookout Mt?

I know this was meant for Joe, but I wanted to chime in.

It has been YEARS. My parents had family in Chattanooga,
and we went there to "See Rock City". The last time I was
there, my late father and I rode a Fall Foliage Steam Train
Excursion behind the Norfolk And Western Class J 611 Steam
Locomotive, from Chattanooga to Oneida, and return...and
    that was 30 years ago.

I kinda like to go to different places.
A return trip would be after a couple of years.

This runs about 12 pages, in five or six sections of two or three days
each and about three pages each.
This is all copy and paste since its mostly the same for everyone.

Then put the list in a safe place so you can find it when you are ready
    for that trip...
