I like to do computer repairs for my local residents. Now, I have a customer that
upgraded from Win 10 to Win 11. Microsoft automatically installed Bitlocker and it really
did its job. It locked up their computer.

I never had any dealings with Win 11 because none of my 4 home computers qualify for
the upgrade.

I was unable to enter the code to unlock it. I did research online and decided to
reformat the hard drive with a bootable USB using Rufus and the Win 11 ISO. It
installed, but now the computer won't boot up.

I get the error "Inaccessible Boot Device".

Not sure if this could be a bios thing, or maybe the computer doesn't qualify for Win 11.

Still doing research to try and get it going, but does anyone out there have any
suggestions. Perhaps what the BIOS settings should be (if that is the problem).

Thanks much. I will also check with HP support to see if this model is capable of running Windows 11. If not, I guess my best option is to find a low cost vendor selling Windows 10 on E-Bay and install that for now.

I found a solution. Since it is an HP computer, I entered the serial number onto their
support page and downloaded every Device Manager for this model and loaded them
onto my USB stick that I was going to use to install the OS.

While booting up with the stick, I selected each folder containing the various drivers, and
finally the OS installed successfully. I have to admit how elated I was that after about 5
days of trial and error, it finally worked! Windows 11 machine.

The customer was happy too.

Microsoft has had a media creation portal for some time, where you can download ISOs for most of their current OSes. I've re-built OEM versions of Windows 10 by building a bootable USB stick and making a fresh install.
