Pretty Moon near the Pleiades and Uranus (pre-dawn)

When the pretty, waning crescent moon rises in the east before dawn on Monday, June 23 in the Americas, it will be shining a short distance to the lower left (or celestial east) of the Pleiades Star Cluster in Taurus, the Bull, setting up a nice photo opportunity for early risers. Also known as the Seven Sisters and by many other names, the cluster looks particularly nice through
binoculars in morning twilight. Before the sky brightens too much, skywatchers can also try to see the star-like dot of bluish Uranus, which will spend this year less than a palm's width to the Pleiades' lower right (or 4.5 degrees to its celestial south).
