I've had an air fryer for a couple years now. I do like it for chicken. They can also cook potato items fairly well (French fries, tater tots, hash brown patties, etc.). I've even heard of people cooking steak in an air fryer, though I haven't tried that myself:

Also, I've cooked frozen battered/breaded fish in my air fryer, and it usually does a fairly good job with that too. The thing is that fish seems to come apart more easily and can stick to the bottom of the air fryer (maybe some cooking oil would be good).

I think most frozen breaded foods and frozen snack items tend to cook fairly well in an air fryer.

We tried using one we got for Christmas and to be honest we can't really distinguish what it's doing separate from a traditional oven, more or less. I guess it's an oven that is faster because it doesn't have to heat as much space? Not really clear to me. Perhaps we're doing it wrong :)

Pretty much anything you would DEEP FRY can be cooked in it, and you are
not adding additional oil to your food!

I dhave an air fryer. I don't use it much.

You can throw in nearly any other thing you would use a regular fryer for. It is fine for sausages and even fillet.

That said, I tend to use the fireplace more if just because I am more likely to already have it burning for heating. I may as well throw a pan in and fry my things on it when needed.

We also have a Philips Airfryer since early summer and use it quite

We also noticed that you can boil your eggs in there while baking the rolls/baguettes: eg. the rolls take 180 degC for 5 min, and the eggs
take 3 extra minutes and are really good.

I also tried baking pizza (a deep-fried one), as Philips is offering a
"Pizza Kit". You have to figure out the best temperature and time and
use the grid above the pizza (so that the topping won't fly around),
but it does work.

Philips also offers an app called "NutriU" where you can find many
recipies.

Actually, anything that you would normally deep fry or back tends to work pretty good, as long as it's BREADED and NOT BATTERED.

I've cooked Van de Kamp's battered fish fillets in my air fryer, and it seems to work fairly well for those. I actually just cooked some of those last night for dinner in my air fryer. This time, I sprayed some cooking oil on the platter in the air fryer because pieces of those fish fillets can stick to it, and I think that helped.

From what I understand, this is exactly it. It's not really a 'fryer', but a type of convection oven. I use mine to cook pretty much everything. You can even make muffins/bread with it.

True. I bought a new convection oven and it comes with a fryer basket -
like a portable air fryer but bigger.

My recent air-fryer discovery is meat. I took a tri-tip steak, cubed it,
put it in a 400 degreee airfryer, pre-heated and cooked them for 3
minutes a side. They came out nicely, then tossed them onto a bed or
romaine lettuce, sliced red onion and bleu cheese.

The best air fryer snack food we've found is mini tater-tots. The minis
seem to get crispier than full-sized tots.
