There are several good programs available that are much better.
Visit the files menu and look in the "internet" area. I recommend
Mtelnet, a great application for windows or OS/2. If you currently
don't have the ability to download with your terminal, copy this to
your WWW Browser:

Not all browsers fail to get files from an ftp link. Lynx will grab files from an ftp or gopher server as always although it's a text browser.

I use firefox most of the time and it won't grab files from an ftp link, I find that annoying.

It's a pain in the ass but curl or wget will get the job done if needed.
