Well, good to see this echo fire up. When it comes to sport, I'm more of a doer than a watcher. While I've done a number of sports, currently, my main sport is Masters athletics, and I focus mainly on sprints.
Last weekend, I was in Cairns in far north Queensland, Australia, for the Great Barrier Reef Masters Games. I ran 4 sprints on Saturday at the track, and a 5k road race on Sunday. Didn't do too bad either.
Saturday - conditions were windy and mostly cloudy, with a couple of showers. Results were:
100m 4th, 13.80, -1.5m/S wind ( - means headwind, + means tailwind)
60m 4th, 8.78, -4.0 m/S wind
200m, 3rd, 27.46, -0.7m/S wind
400m, 2nd, 66.65
Fields included national champions, so it was a tough meet.
Sunday - conditions warm and fine, light breeze.
5km road race, 1st, 27:54 (course was 150-200m long).
So, a pretty good weekend.
Now that track season has finished, I'm focusing on endurance and general fitness, to start rebuilding for next summer.
... The first rule of air combat is to see the other guy first.
