    Hi All,

    Just a quick note, after seeing the circular dupes coming through the gateway system here, I have temporarily disabled importing from that system.

    I'm looking through the logs now, to see what/how this is happening.

    Sorry for all the dupe messages.

    If it helps, I only noticed them here in STATS and maybe ADS. I did not
    see any dupes in this echo or others.

    The Stats and Ads were the worst, but there were a few that made it through into a couple other areas.

    I'm thinking it was a stuck packet from one of the QWK nodes. I haven't seen any come through to my bad message area, so I think I'll turn it back on
    again.

    on several different BBS software packages for Amiga, testing Y2K stuff with FTN to try to find something that doesn't cause too much irritation

    For now, I have message import from the gateway hub turned off, so there
    won't be any dupes coming through. I've been monitoring the messages to see what's been coming in.

    Testing is fine, in my opinion. :) That's all part of the fun in this
    hobby... :) I just don't want anyone getting mad about the dupes flooding the network.

    For some reason, these messages are caught in a circular loop. The message
    come in from the FTN network, get sent out via QWK, get sent back as a new message, and back to the network, rinse, lather, repeat... My question is,
    why are these messages being sent back to the gateway hub? HPT should be catching them as originating from the gateway, and not send them back, so I'm not sure if there are multiple systems causing this, or what's happening.

    Sorry, this wasn't just meant for you. I was just venting a little frustration... :)

    Hi All,

    Just a quick note to let everyone know, I have disabled the import of
    messages coming in through the FTN<>QWK gateway site. Someone on the QWK side is bouncing every message back through the system, causing a lot of dupe messages.

    So, until I can track down who the culprit is and get it corrected, I have disabled any importing of message from QWK to the network. The messages will
    be exported out to you.

    Sorry about this, but I can't see flooding a network with duplicate messages.
