There will be a bit of downtime next weekend as I have to physically move everything to the house we have rented. When I know the exact timing of it, I will let everyone know.
I've been a bit withdrawn from SciNet and BBSing in general. We are
preparing to do a full reno of the house (gutting it from top to bottom and re-laying the entire house).
We are in the middle of packing everything so it can be stored and we
have to move out for 4-6 months. I've been busying packing and wondering why the fuck we have so many things.

Oh, that sounds like fun! My wife and I always thought it would be fun
to be able to do that. The problem is the funding required...
Isn't that always the case? We've only been in this house for three
years, and I'm amazed at how much crap we've accumulated...

OK... what should be the proper cause of action to this? Should we stop polling for 2-3 days and re-enable polling afterwards? or leave it as it is?

For me, I'll just leave it trying to poll. It'll give me a bunch of
errors in the log files, but then again, so does trying to connect to my Fidonet RC...

That was the very same question I was going to ask .... so it is asked
and answered ... all good.

If it would be for a couple weeks, I might disable polling, but not for
a few days. :)

Frank can't get rid of me that easily... ;)
lol, yeah fidonet is falling the f**k apart...

I have FidoNet and had a bunch of feeds. I have dropped most of them simply because I do not want allot of the filth and language on my BBS.
It is not like it was back in the late 80's and early 90's .... Between Fido and UseNET, which I have both nodes, I was appalled by the trash language I saw in message boards. So, I finally dropped most of the
feeds. I still have a few like WEATHER, HAM, Cook_BOOK and some sports.
I can handle a few swear words here and there, but some of the talk in some echos was just rotten, and not really because of the swearing.
That, and I was never brave enough to post on it, for fear of angering some fido god or something.
Andrew
I never posted on Fido, like you, was simply feared some reader will end up going bash crazy ... So, I dumped almost all my Fido and UseNET feeds.

It's a sad of state of affairs when the fear is will I get clobbered for what I post :(

Good Luck Frank, I know it is going to be a real P.I.T.A for a good
bit, but the silver lining is the end result. :)

I also post very little in Fido these days.

If by god you mean a 50-somthing who is living in the basement of his parents house and thinks that he has some sort of power in fidonet, then yes.
I was being generous with "a couple of days". It will be more like 6-12 hours. Plus, the actual mail hub will be up the whole time, it's the axillary services like the uucp gateway that will be affected.
I 2nd that ...... I really enjoy bringing back to life the BBS. Ran on back 89-96 and it was a blast. Since bringing the BBS back online I
find myself less on Facebook and more reading Message Boards and Games.

It is sad, perhaps not entirely warranted, as I have no doubt there are plenty of nice people on FidoNet too. It's just the not so nice people
are so much louder it seems, well it seemed to me.
I did like the guy who was my NC, Paul Quinn. I kind of hoped he would join an other net at some point.
Like my Dad always said, "Prepare for the worst, and you'll never be disappointed". ;)
I asked my Dr. if she could chemically induce me into a coma for the
next 6 months. She said she could, but it wouldn't be medically ethical
to do so :(.

I had given up on Failbook, Twitter, and Poodle+ years ago. Now, it's
just been BBSing. For the most part, I don't have to worry about my
blood pressure rising when I read messages on here. :)

Yep, 50-something living in his parent's basement and shoots lightning bolts from his eyes.

Mine use to say: Fuck up every now and then. If you are always perfect then people get disappointed when you fuck up. If you fuck up every now and then on purpose, the honest time you fuck up, people won't be pissed.
Curious how the move was going and if you have come up for a deep breath yet. Did not want to bother and was waiting to ask if you have time to
set up two Door games on NET 77 for me?
I'll send you the needed files for FE and InterLord tomorrow morning
once I get settled in for the day. All the steps for getting the games going are listed in the info pack. If you have any issues with getting them setup, don't hesitate to reach out here and there are plenty of us who can help.
Thank you ... I do understand things are really crazy.
You should have interbbs.cfg (For InterLord) and fenodes.dat (For Falcons Eye) in your inbound folder.
iLord is asking for a file called IGMINFO.DAT .... reading the lordsetup.txt from the infopak it indicates this file needed into the INTERLORD directory.
