This is probably a pie in the sky request, but is there any chance that mystic could track the read/unread status of individual messages instead of a date pointer?
I do have a system coded to do that, but it falls outside of JAM. You can
see it in action in th "threddit.exe" demo in the prealpha area.
Alternatively, Thunderbird doesn't have this issue when using the built
in mailer, but as g00r00 had previously stated it doesn't really fully work. I am unable to properly send replies, and thunderbird gets
confused on message numbers, and if you click on a message you are not guaranteed to be reading that message and not a cached previous message.
The message numbers should be the same if you're not packing/renumbering your message bases. Thats a temporary fix until I get around to revamping the
news server.
Newgroups do not have a "To" field so I think Thunderbird tries to reply by e-mail if I remember correctly.
I use the global personal scan in my login process, but if I read the messages that are directly related to me then any message in that echo prior to that is marked as read. So I have taken to saying 'No' to
You can tell it not to update your last read like that during a global scan
by using the /NOREAD option in the message read, new scan or quick scan.
