I use it to connect to bbs sites via telnet I have a serial to usb converter
to connect to my win 10 PC. I use a hayes simulator(BBS SERVER) on the PC to connect to the internet

I have always wanted to get my hands on a 80's BBS micro. Being from North America, coming across things like the Sinclair, Amstrad or the Micro was a rare thing.

I want to add all three to my collection. Currently I have a heap load of C64's, Vic 20's, Amigas and Atari ST's.

Yeah, I've had my eye on one or two the past few years but never pulled the trigger on them.

I have a steep up transformer wired into my houses electrical system as I prefer to play some of the classic Amiga games on a PAL 1200 with a PAL monitor, the only way to roll.

I'm well aware of the magic smoke issue with their power supplies, a few
Amiga power supplies are guilty as well.

I recap Amigas and C64s so the first thing I would do is recap the SOB so to avoid setting off my smoke detectors.

I had a BBC Micro when I lived in the UK. I left it with my parents when I moved to the US and they ditched it and all my floppies when they moved
here. I'm kicking myself for telling them to do that. I wrote a BBS for the
BBC Micro and submitted it for my computer studies project in 1987. I had a 10MB hard drive for it along with an auto answer modem. I started with the
free Micronet 800 modem which was 1200/75 which didn't have auto answer.
When I was working on my BBS, people could upload real quick but it took forever to draw the login screen, and pretty much anything. I had to sit
there and wait for a call and press the connect button. Fun times.
